Loose Paper Graft 23, Golden Glow
Sometimes the blending of two colors seems to happen seamlessly as I push the paint into the surface. Loose Paper Graft 23, Golden Glow has that feel. The white of the paper saved during the process with OPEN acrylics, connects the intentional white line near the top.
This piece has been selected by curator Gia Harewood “ Luminescence “ will be on display November 23- February 2 ,2024
for exhibition in Washington D.C.
Loose Paper Graft 23, Autumn Hill
The Warmth of the orange light that connects again at the high horizon line . Surface reveled and hidden with the rich mossy green.
Loose Paper Graft 23, Autumnal Symphony
Loose Paper Graft 23 , Autumnal Symphony has an energy and cadence. The downward stroke connects the format with the orientation of the paper and pulls away from the distant mark and opacity of the white horizontal.
Loose Paper Graft 23, Dragon Fly Morning
Loose Paper Graft 23, Dragonfly Morning reminds of the cyclical nature of our world and of dragon flys that charm and delight us in summer . Then vanishing until the next cycle of spring into summer. The large band of yellowish paint seems to press with a heaviness not usually a description of yellow.
LOOSE PAPER GRAFT 22, Still Thinking
Paper Graft 22, Still Thinking is an exploration of color and finding ones that almost fit with some awkwardness or incompatibility is interesting to me. I like this piece with its “jolt” of light cadmium yellow and graphite and the extraordinary Phthalo blue green shade matched against/ with the magenta bar. You choose the scenario ?

SOLD LOOSE Paper Graft, Magenta Rise
Working on beautiful Fabriano paper inspires a connection to me physically as the paint is scraped and moved across and over. Using Golden Open Paint allows time for looking and shifting paint together as I become the viewer more than the painter.

SOLD Paper Graft 22, Loose Summer Light
Different paints allow for a variety of outcomes. In 2013 Golden Paints accepted me into a program to train with their wonderful team of artist and scientist to be able to understand the possibilities with their products.
I was lucky enough to have Patti Brady as my instructor. She is a great artist and person .
During the training I was introduced to “OPEN” acrylics. They have an extended drying time . I used “open” acrylic freely over Summer Light catching the freedoms of movement and a moment in time.
