Scapes Gallery
Scapes, Swish Magenta/ Water Street Gallery Douglas MI
A light drift of tinted blue green directs the eye to the left while the bold magenta reaches right .
For this series , I am looking at the big mark in relation to the scale of the 19.75 x 4 face of each cradled board . I work them as a group to give myself time to look make a mark move the paint and let it dry. I find a connection between the flatness of the mark on the surface , the marks illusion of space because of our human way of seeing the horizon as a flat line and the insistence of the cradle as it juts out into space helping that illusion.
Each cradle is 4 x 19.75 x 3. The side are left raw wood and they are permanently cleated to hold close to the wall .
Scapes ,Begin Green
